Timothy O'Grady
Timothy O’Grady’s Motherland won the David Higham award for the best first novel in 1989. I Could Read the Sky, a lyrical novel with photographs by Steve Pyke, won an Encore Award in 1997 and was subsequently adapted for the screen. On Golf was published by Yellow Jersey in 2003 and Light was published in 2005. He is currently working on a travel book about America.
Timothy O'Grady has also worked extensively in the theatre as a writer, actor and script editor, and his work for radio includes The Young Americans, a five part series for BBC Radio Three, which he wrote and presented. His fiction, articles and reviews have been published in numerous newspapers and journals including The Sunday Times, The Observer, The Literary Review, Time Out, The New Statesman and The Irish Press.
