Martin Gayford
Martin Gayford writes for a wide varitey of newspapers on a wide range of subjects from the Old Masters to cutting edge contemporary art. He has interviewed prominent artists including Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella and Ellsworth Kelly.
Until December 2002 he was the art critic for The Spectator magazine and wrote weekly for The Daily Telegraph on art. He is a contributor to the World of Interiors, Harpers and Queen, American Vogue and Modern Painters. He is also the jazz critic for The Daily Telegraph and has published a few short books on this.
In 2003 Martin was the judge for the Jerwood Painting Prize. He has lectured at Tate, Peterhouse College, and the National Portrait Gallery, and is also a regular contributor to radio and television. His last book, The Yellow House was published by Viking and he is currently working on Constable in Love which will be published by Fig Tree in 2009.
