Marybeth Hamilton

Marybeth Hamilton studied at Berkley then Princeton to gain her PhD in History.  Since then she has written reviews for publications such as New Statesman and Society, The Literary Review and The Times and written and presented material for BBC Radio 3 and the BBC World Service.  She has been awarded a Predoctoral Research Fellowship from the Smithsonian Institution and a Postdoctoral Fellowship from Princeton University. Her publications to date include a work on Mae West, politics and popular culture entitled The Queen of Camp: Mae West, Sex and Popular Culture and a book on the blues published by Cape in the UK and the Free Press in the US.

Marybeth Hamilton currently lectures at Birkbeck College, University of London.
