Monica Arac de Nyeko

Monica Arac de Nyeko (born 1979) is a Ugandan writer of short fiction, poetry, and essays. She was educated at Makerere University and the University of Groningen. Her short story Strange Fruit was shortlisted for the Caine Prize in 2004 and in 2007 she won it with her story Jambula Tree.
